HGV Class 2 Driver

Our client based in Abingdon is looking for a Temporary to Permanent HGV Class 2 driver to join their team assisting customers with the safe transit of their goods to personal locations and businessess.

The Role;

You will work with a team of drivers and porters to ensure the safe transit of peoples personal items to various destinations

  • Full Class 2 licence, with no more than 6 points on your licence

  • Dealing with customers face to face and over the telephone

  • Working within a team of 2 to ensure safe delivery and drop off
  • Safe manual handling of goods, on and off the vehicle.

Hours of work are generally from 6/7am each morning depending on work required for the day.

About the role:

Responsibilities;

* Carry out all operations associated with receipt, unloading, storage, manipulation, testing, loading and despatch of radiation source products/empty transport containers at/from facility in compliance with approved safety procedures, Environment Agency (EA) licence requirements and container licences.
* Perform all aspects of operations whether undertaken on or off site in accordance with UK Health & Safety legislation, written procedures, complete all necessary documentation accurately and fully to prescribed formats as required by the Quality Management System (QMS) and container licences.
* Maintain the containers and flat racks in a condition that is fit for purpose and conforms with all regulatory requirements, including detailed record keeping that meets with QMS and local requirements acting within the prescribed systems of work to ensure compliance with approvals.
* Report problems promptly to the Operations Manager or applicable Design Authority.
* As a service representative, undertake various activities at customer premises worldwide, e.g. source manipulations, surveillance related activities, flask handling supervision/training, plant servicing etc., typically alongside a colleague maintaining compliance with the Ionising Radiation Regulations (IRRs) which are part of UK Health & Safety legislation. This may require being away from home in more than 30 days a year.
* Maintain, prepare and load/despatch the specialised equipment required in the installation and surveillance kits, ensuring maintenance and calibration is compliant with QMS requirements and UK legislation.
* Member of the ‘on-call’ rota as a building custodian to attend any out-of-hours alarm activations contributing to e site security requirements of the EA licence
* Undertake tasks associated with operation of the bonded store, including receipt, QC inspection, logging, segregation and despatch of non-radioactive product components and ensure compliance with necessary procedures and container licences.
* Control and maintain the databases associated with the calibration of instruments & tooling. Responsible for ensuring that all calibrations are undertaken in a timely manner to meet licensing requirements.
* Undertake tasks associated with the maintenance requirements of the site. Make the necessary arrangements; ensure that the work is performed in a timely & acceptable manner, being recorded as appropriate.
* Supervise external contractors that are required to perform work at the facility.
* Maintain the warehouse, yard and limited grounds in a clean, safe and orderly manner always; vacuuming, washing warehouse and workshop floors, sweeping of yard, grass cutting etc.

Essential experience;

* Education: Preferably ONC/Craftsman level in an engineering related field
* Years of experience: Preferably 3 years working in a light engineering or industrial manufacturing environment
* Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable.
* Calm, reliable and consistent, able to perform the duties under scrutiny from both internal and external auditors.
* Strong organization skills.
* Excellent documentation skills
* Experience following standard operating procedures.
* Attention to detail.
* Experience working in a regulated environment.

The successful candidate will have previous mechanical engineering experience / knowledge whilst also having the ability to use hand tools. This is a key role manufacturing and assembly of production items for multiple manufacturing sectors, including, but not limited to motorsport, automotive, military, medical and industrial applications. Completion of the assembly of production products against strict planned schedules to a very high standard of detail and quality.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 6am – 2pm or 2pm – 10pm

Main responsibilities;

  • Using hand tools to assemble motorsport components

We require a Forklift Truck Driver to join our clients team based in Wallingford, Oxfordshire. You will be required to load and unload lorries and containers to ensure the safe transit of the company goods.

Hours of work are from 7:30am until 5pm, Monday to Friday. Due to location ideally you would need to drive with access to your own transport.

Cleaning Supervisor / Housekeeping

Postion: Housekeeping Supervisor / Senior Cleaner

Our client based in Central Oxford are looking for an experienced Cleaning Supervisor/Housekeeper on a temporary basis. This will include ensuring cleanliness of all rooms; dealing with staff and guest enquiries; managing staffing allocation during staff holiday and other absences, including recommending to the Accommodation Manager if temporary staff are required; allocating work and supervising standards of work; identifying the need for staff training, monitoring performance and providing training as required.

General Responsibilities:

To train all new scouts, as per the agreed training plan, in both the policies and procedures of the College and in the correct methods of cleaning and maintenance, ensuring the necessary records are kept.

To carry out regular spot-checks in accordance with procedures and to provide constructive feedback and training for staff on how to maintain the required standards. To identify individual training needs and to carry out necessary training in liaison with the Housekeeper, as per the training plan, and to maintain training records.

The Housekeeper and Deputy are responsible for ensuring the efficient use of chemicals by the Housekeeping team, and their correct storage, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained and monitored, and for issuing stock to staff as required. To help the Housekeeper with the stock take.

Daily Cleaning Duties

  • Thoroughly clean to the required standards all designated rooms, including bathrooms, kitchens landings, stairways and corridors.
  • Empty bins and wash glasses etc.
  • Dust and vacuum Guest Rooms, including bathrooms, daily and change linen accordingly.
  • Sweep and mop floors, clean worktops and sinks and empty bins in kitchens daily.
  • All washbasins, baths and toilets to be thoroughly cleaned as per schedule.
  • Stairways, landings and corridors to be dusted and vacuumed as per schedule.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Ability to communicate well with all customers and have a good level of spoken and written English
  • Ability to work to identified cleaning standards
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and offer flexibility to cover for absence of colleague(s)
  • Reliable, trustworthy and capable of using own initiative
  • In excellent health, capable of doing physical work which involves bending, lifting and climbing stairs
