About the role;

Planet Recruitment are proud to be working with a fast-growing organisation based in the Oxford area who are looking for a Composites Technician / Finisher. The successful candidate will be responsible for finishing of GRP mouldings for use in boat construction. Trimming, preparation, polishing, gel coat repairs and assembly of moulded components.

Responsibilities;

  • Checking and identifying defects requiring rework
  • Repair to gel coat surfaces to remove imperfections/ joint lines from split mould tools.
  • Fairing of surfaces
  • Polishing of gel coat surfaces to achieve high level of surface finish.
  • Trimming of GRP components using air saws, routers and diamond cutting discs, if required
  • Sanding and finishing of cut edges using abrasives papers.
  • Maintain and promote high standards of workmanship.
  • Assist in other areas of the manufacturing process as directed by the Team Leader for this section.
  • Assist in the training of personnel including new production operatives as and when required.
  • Basic Housekeeping duties, including maintaining a tidy workstation and working area.
  • Be accountable for your own work.
  • Correct use of PPE.
  • Uphold company HSE standards and report any shortfalls.

Essential experience;

  • Previous experience of finishing GRP or paint finishes/ detailing.
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach.
  • Good team player being able to work independently or as part of a team when necessary.
  • Able to work to deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Previous experience of working within the Marine industry or similar high quality driven industry advantageous but not essential.

The role;

We require an area Team leader for our client based in Oxford reporting directly into the Plant Manager. You will be responsible for your area and supporting and organising the control of designated projects for the client within your chosen area.

Main responsibilities;

  • Organise the hour-to-hour function of your designated projects or area. Ensure that all colleagues work in a safe and efficient manner consistent with company requirements.

  • For the relevant project ensure the colleagues are equipped with the correct tooling, and materials to carry out the required activities in accordance with the task required.
  • Ensure your team is aware of shift requirements each day and that the correct communication is given to them to ensure targets are achieved on a daily basis
  • Advise shift management and Customer Liaison Manager [if appropriate] of concerns identified during the ongoing inspection activities
  • Work with Shift Management to ensure all issues are resolved as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • If required personally carry out the required inspection activities.
  • Ensure that the required Project paperwork is completed on time and to the required standard for all projects under their control.

About you;

  • Knowledge of the Automotive industry and working within OEM’s would be beneficial

Labourer/Driver

We are currently looking to recruit a Labourer/Van Driver in the Oxford area to start ASAP.

Company transport provided and will need collecting from Hungerford.

We are recruiting for a Wireless Support engineer for highly rated IT reseller based in Oxford. This role is to proactively and consistently monitor, respond, and report on the network health for network customers. As part of this, you will also provide first-line support and troubleshooting for network issues that are raised by means of alerts or support tickets.

This role will also play a big part in customer satisfaction and retention. You will work with the wider team (sales, technical, and support) to ensure we consistently deliver an exceptional Network offering to our customers.

The Role

  • Onboard new customers and deploy Auvik network monitoring software in their environment.
  • Assist with tailoring the set-up of Auvik to suit the customer’s environment.
  • Respond to critical alerts received from Auvik by contacting the customer immediately and starting the troubleshooting process.
  • Proactively monitor the health of Network customers’ WLAN and LAN platforms (device health, updates, new features etc) and discuss any updates that need to occur for optimal network health.
  • Work closely with the Head of Technical when reviewing the customers data and assist with recommendations.
  • Work closely with the Support team to assist with any active tickets for Network customers and escalate if necessary.
  • At the end of the month, compile appropriate information for the customers’ monthly/quarterly Network report.
  • Generate excitement for the company’s other products/services/solutions that the customer doesn’t have (find upsell opportunities organically through the strong relationship you have with customers).
  • Be the voice of the customer within the company and share feedback with the wider team so we can continue to review and refine how we support, sell, market and deliver to our customers.

The Role;

This is a very exciting role working on a project with The University of Oxford upgrading their Wi-Fi access points. You will be involved with the upgrade Wi-Fi project and have a great opportunity to gain some valuable experience.

Interest in starting a career in wireless networking. The Junior Wireless Engineer will be responsible for scaling/measuring customer buildings and performing Radio Frequency surveys.

The successful candidate must have a good general knowledge of IT, will be trained to use Wi-Fi surveying tools and will need to be able to work at height. The job involves manual handling of physical equipment, Health & Safety training will be provided. The Junior Wireless Engineer must have a good attention to detail and to be able to follow procedures accurately.

Key tasks include, but not limited to:
* Performing RF surveys on-site using Ekahau software;
* Picking, labelling and packing Wi-Fi access points ready for installation;
* To help basic installation of an Wi-Fi access points (if required);

CATERING SUPERVISOR

Position; Catering Supervisor

The role;

To assist the Front of House Manager in the organisation and supervision of catering services, providing the highest levels of service in the Dining Hall, Senior Common Room, Bar and Cafés throughout the College both in term time and vacations.

Working hours will be any 5 days out of 7, 40 hours per week. This may include some 7am starts and some 10pm finishes.

Main responsibilities;

  • Supervise each meal period to meet agreed standards of service while maintaining all hygiene standards.
  • Make suggestions to develop service standards to meet the changing needs of the College and its customers.
  • Organise and direct each meal period so that staff are assigned according to the needs of the level of service.
  • Monitor the appearance of staff, ensure they are correctly uniformed and meet approved standards of appearance.
  • Check stocks of China, cutlery etc as directed to ensure service level requirements.
  • Lay tables, plan table assignments, prepare and set up for meal service.
  • At the end of each meal period ensure wash up is clear and all service areas are clean and tidy.
  • Assist with the service of SCR lunch and dinner in the SCR and at High Table both in and out of term.
  • Assist with events including refreshment breaks, drinks receptions and al fresco dining throughout the college and its environs.
  • Clean and polish silver, glass, and specialist service items

  • Despatch and record wine issues to Hall and Bar as required.

  • Ensure bar staff report for duty on time and complete signing in sheet.
  • Supervise casual bar staff throughout the shift.
  • Perform weekly pipe cleaning.
  • Maintain good stock control practice.
  • Maintain good order in cellar and stock room.
  • Ensure area behind bar is clean and prepared for service and left clean and tidy at the end of each shift.
  • Develop and adhere to cleaning schedules.
  • Receive deliveries as necessary.
