Salary: £40,000 – £50,000

Hours – Mon – Friday 9am – 5pm.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Analyst Developer to join their IT Team. They are delivering a detailed Digital Transformation Programme across its business and the additional Technical Analyst Developer will join the IT Development team. Here, they will work with other Technology Teams and customers and build new JAVA based applications and interfaces and provide support for existing Technical Products and Services.

Key Responsibilities:

To design, build, test, and maintain robust and maintainable software systems and interfaces within the companies JAVA Technology stack; ensuring that all software is delivered to standard, budget, schedule and expected quality levels.

Provide expertise and assistance to others through informal and formal design, code reviews, mentoring, and on aspects of overall technical delivery and design principles.

Operate within a Matrix managed structure, reporting progress to the IT Project Manager.

Contribute to the programme of continuous improvement.

  • Work closely within the business and with external IT teams to ensure that the architectural vision is translated into robust, maintainable, and effective product and service delivery.
  • Plan, monitor and review own workload, and report progress as agreed.
  • To estimate product development cost and timescales and contribute to overall project planning.
  • Help maintain an environment that encourages openness, improvement, and positive change.
  • Support the software development planning and delivery process.
  • Help maintain development and integration environments to help test code in a controlled manner
  • Troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Manage source code repositories, artifact building to ensure Continuous CI / CD allowing developers to develop and release code in a controlled manner.

Skill Requirements:

  • Excellent understanding of software development lifecycles – AGILE, Waterfall.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work within a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Committed to providing excellent standards of customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute well within a team.
  • Ability to support change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform Release build and deployment tasks as required of the task in hand and the overall role held in support of the Release process.
  • Essential skills include: Java, Java EE 8+, Spring Framework, Web Services; SOAP and ReST, JSP, JavaScript, SOA, JUNIT, WebLogic, Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory, CI/CD, Junit, Maven
  • Experience of the following: WSO2, Oauth2, Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, CSS and Ajax, Linux (RHEL5+), Scripting
  • Bonus Skills: OO programming and design patterns, PHP, and UI frameworks. Thymeleaf, Mockito, Bootstrap, JBOSS
