IT Analyst

£25k – £35k plus Benefits

The Role

The role of IT Analyst is primarily based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. (Home working in the current climate and can be discussed moving forwards).

It offers a variety of challenges with each customer being unique and we expect excellent levels of customer service.

The role would require you to:

  • Monitor Sophos alerts and remediate issues where required

  • Produce weekly/monthly/quarterly reports as per client specification

  • Log, manage, and resolve customer security issues

  • Work with 3rd party resources to resolve issues

  • Keep up to date with developments of Planet IT’s portfolio of products and with wider technology trends

  • Individual self-study to achieve and maintain industry accreditation

  • Work closely with the security services manager

The Candidate

Applicants for the IT Analyst role should be ambitious with a strong work ethic and desire to learn. You must relish having real responsibility and a desire to earn qualifications and further your career.

The role requires someone with a solid IT support background, but the role will be varied. And although there will be the initial day to day work once settled in, we would expect you to want to branch into Security with focus in the main to be on this.

You should be able to work on your own initiative and will be expected to bring ideas to the table to further advance the services offered in the department.

As an IT Analyst in the Security Services department, you will be joining a growing and experienced team in supporting a wide variety of technologies.

The right candidate must have the following:

  • Attention to detail

  • Minimum of 3 years’ IT experience in a corporate or services environment

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills

  • Provide high level of support for existing customers Administration of Microsoft operating systems and applications (Office etc.)

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft domain infrastructure; Exchange, group policy, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory etc. 2000 - 2016

  • A solid working knowledge of Sophos XG firewalls or similar

  • Good written and spoken English

  • Android/IOS support

  • Ability to work independently under pressure

  • Driving license and own transport essential
