An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with the prestigious University of Oxford. Due to an Improving Wireless Programme that is currently undertaking a six-month Pilot to expand a Managed Wireless Service across University buildings, they are looking to hire a Project Coordinator.

We are looking for an experienced and well organised Project Co-ordinator to support the management of project delivery tasks, track resources, support communications, in conjunction to our Agile: Scrum framework/delivery processes. A key responsibility will be to support the Project Manager on collecting strategic data from key stakeholders.

The postholder will be responsible for:

  • Managing the creation, updating and escalations for workload captured in our programme backlog.
  • Facilitating daily check-in meetings to ensure operational progress is reviewed, tracked and any escalation points captured and actioned.
  • Support the issue resolution of any purchasing and/or finance issues that arise (in the Project Manager’s absence).
  • Supporting the Delivery Team with the planning of sprint activities and creating relevant tasks to assign to staff.
  • Supporting the Project Manager with key stakeholder engagement and eliciting strategic data.
  • Assist the Project Manager with financial engagement and issue resolution with Project Finance teams.
  • Assisting the Project Manager with preparing weekly/monthly progress reports.

Experience required:

  • Experience of delivering projects using the Agile: Scrum framework.
  • Experience of using agile project management tools e.g. Azure DevOps and/or Atlassian Jira.
  • Desirable: dealing with purchasing transactions and financial monitoring.
  • Familiarity with MS products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, etc.) is essential.

Our client, a college in the City Centre are looking for a Housekeeper / Cleaner to join their housekeeping team on a temporary basis from their location in Central Oxford.

The Role;

Your role will involve making sure rooms are cleaned to a high standard by dusting, vacuuming and polishing, be able to work on your own initiative or work efficiently in a team and have a good attention to detail.

Reporting to the supervisor, the duties will include but not be limited to:

  • General Cleaning
  • Emptying Waste Bins and replacing Bin Liners
  • Toilet Cleaning
  • Sanitising the toilets and wash basins and keeping the area’s clean and tidy
  • Replenishing Toilet Tissues, Hand Towels, Soap products etc.

Mixture of shifts available and would be 30 – 40 hours per week 5 days out of 7 (including weekends).

About you;

The ideal candidate will have previous knowledge of cleaning but full training will be given.

Responsibilities;

  • To check the quality of all goods purchased.
  • Ensure all food labelling is carried out as per HACCP.

Essential experience;

  • Relevant professional qualifications such as City & Guilds 706 1 or 2, or NVQ, or equivalent professional experience
  • CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering or equivalent
  • Experience in working across different sections of the kitchen, preferably within a large and busy operation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including an intermediate level of written and spoken English Excellent larder, pastry, and sauce skills.
  • Ability to produce a wide variety of dishes, including vegetarian.
  • Ability to work without supervision using own initiative.
  • Taking responsibility for scheduled tasks.
  • High level of attention to detail with the ability to follow recipes accurately.
  • Willing to work flexibly as part of the overall team.

Junior Wireless Engineer

Junior Wireless Engineer

Central Oxford – Onsite (5 days per week)

Contract role – 3-6 Months (possible extension)

Pay £120 – £150 per day

This is a very exciting role working on a project with The University of Oxford upgrading their Wi-Fi access points. You will be involved with the upgrade Wi-Fi project and have a great opportunity to gain some valuable experience.

Interest in starting a career in wireless networking. The Junior Wireless Engineer will be responsible for scaling/measuring customer buildings and performing Radio Frequency surveys.

The successful candidate must have a good general knowledge of IT, will be trained to use Wi-Fi surveying tools and will need to be able to work at height. The job involves manual handling of physical equipment, Health & Safety training will be provided. The Junior Wireless Engineer must have a good attention to detail and to be able to follow procedures accurately.

Key tasks include, but not limited to:
* Performing RF surveys on-site using Ekahau software;
* Picking, labelling and packing Wi-Fi access points ready for installation;
* To help basic installation of an Wi-Fi access points (if required);
* To assist the Wi-Fi programme with getting Wi-Fi access points vinyl wrapped with third party supplier;
* Help pick-up Wi-Fi access point brackets that have been fabricated for installs;
* To help provide 1st Line Technical support (when required);

  • 1st Line support experience;
    * Good attention to detail;
    * Ability to accurately follow procedures;
    * Working at height/manual handling;
    * Good customer service, organisation and time management;
    * Basic network and good IT knowledge;

EVENTS MANAGER

About the role;

Planet Recruitment are actively looking for an Events Manager to join our well-established client based in the City Centre of Oxford. The successful candidate will be leading the events and hospitality functions of the business along with working very closely with internal and external stakeholders securing bookings and conferences.

Normal working hours will be between 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday however due to some events may involve evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities;

  • Reporting to the Domestic Operations Manager, under the strategic guidance, you will lead the events and hospitality functions.
  • You will work with both internal and external stakeholders in securing the booking of events, conferences, and summer schools, from the point of enquiry to handover to the Events Co-Ordinator for delivery of the function.
  • You will line manage and support our Events Co-Ordinator and work with the Head Chef, Bar, Common Room, and other service Head of Departments to maintain service excellence and to innovate, improve back-office processes, and ensure compliance is achieved in all the teams responsible for the delivery of an event.
  • Work with the finance department to ensure that quotations, invoicing, and payment is made within the required timeframes.
  • You will develop appropriate internal systems to ensure events are secured, administered, and run smoothly, and support the Events Co-Ordinator in the exercise of their role. Together with the Events Co-Ordinator you will jointly manage our Front of House service ensuring that staffing, training, presentation, and service delivery are organized and delivered to a high standard.
  • You will assume managerial responsibility for the student-staffed bar (though the Director of Estates will remain the designated license holder) and you will be responsible for the day-to-day stocking of our wine cellar.
  • Your strong communication and networking skills will build relationships with key stakeholders such as senior personnel, Colleagues, donors, VIP’s and new and repeat clients.

Essential experience;

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Significant experience and expertise in commercial/educational events management, or a related field
  • Experience in project management and managing budgets.
  • Proven ability to work independently, along with a commitment to hands-on teamwork.
  • Proven ability to deliver events where attention to detail is paramount.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to proofread and deliver accurate work rapidly.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
  • Ability to assimilate, understand and retain information at speed and from written and oral sources.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and advocacy skills, employing tact, discretion, and diplomacy.
