Assistant Buyer

Our client boasts a 40 year history specialising in precision fabrication and welding for highly-regulated industries. Who due to continued growth are looking to add a Assistant Buyer to their experienced & highly motivated team.

Main responsibilities;

  • Coordinate the contracting, sourcing and buying of quality components and materials used in product manufacture. Carry out regular visits to maintain standards and resolve supplier issues
  • Assist Risk Mitigation plans based on Supplier performance and commercial risk measurements
  • Arrange Supplier meetings with minuted actions and responsibilities
  • Ensure Supply Agreements and/or Blanket Orders are in place for approved key suppliers.
  • Liaise with both Internal and External customers in order to maintain agreed quality standards and delivery dates.
  • Facilitate resolution of Quality and delivery issues relating to Goods received
  • Drive appropriate initiatives and continuous improvement programmes in order to add value
  • Manage smaller spend suppliers and act as a point of contact for all Internal meetings and challenges

Multi Skilled Engineer (Day Shift)

We are thrilled to be working alongside a genuine leader within the medical device design and manufacturing industry, who are looking to expand their highly innovative and successful engineering team by appointing a Multi Skilled Engineer to carry out repairs and maintenance on manufacturing machinery.

The role;

  • Provide broad and flexible engineering support to the site based engineering teams, ensuring efficient day to day execution of their objectives
  • Carry out escalated repairs on machinery in all areas of the site and liaise with production personnel to minimise downtime
  • Continued training and development of Engineers
  • Support with planned preventative maintenance if required
  • Carry out modifications to manufacturing machines or make minor components to implement machine improvements
  • Oversee machine stoppages and ensure required repairs are completed within a timely manner
  • Work with Process Improvement Engineers to ensure that corrective actions are put in place to avoid repeated maintenance issues
  • Ensure that all repair and maintenance documentation is always maintained with full compliance with all regulatory guide lines and company Standard Operating Procedures

Key skills & experience required;

  • ONC or NVQ qualified or equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Working experience with high speed manufacturing equipment within the medical, pharma or food industry
  • Hands on experience with mechanical fitting and adjustments on high speed assembly equipment
  • Working knowledge of Pneumatic components and control systems
  • Understanding of preventative maintenance procedures, best practices and current safety regulations/legislation’s

The Role;

As an applications engineer you will be involved with activities associated with development and production launch of variable speed BLDC motors and gearmotors for motion control and robotics applications

  • Lead small to large engineering projects to improve cost and quality of electric appliance motors
  • Lead new motor technology projects
  • Complete projects following a phase-gate project management process
  • Coordinate team meetings and conference calls with customer engineers, manufacturing, sales, and quality personnel
  • Create schedules, resource plans, test plans

Main responsibilities;

* To monitor and report on finished goods stock levels against agreed targets
* To help identify, report and implement planning and scheduling process improvements
* To assist in ensuring that clear communications of project timelines, material deliveries, key deadlines or agreed review points, work orders and transport requirements are made available to Production in order to provide on time delivery of each Project, in line with Customer expectations.
* To support the Production Manager in the planning of labour hours against capacity of the Production workforce to ensure efficiencies are maximised and that overtime is planned and accounted for within the Customer quotations prior to agreement
* To monitor stock availability and variances to ensure supplies are available in line with Production planning or to escalate to the responsible lead to establish new delivery dates and adjust plan accordingly.
* To work with the Materials Handlers to arrange inventory cycle counts and ensure the ERP systems accuracy is maintained.
* To become confident in using the ERP system and to support the Planning Coordinator through knowledge of the stock control and production functions within it.
* To receive and enter Sales Orders on to the ERP system in an accurate and timely manner.
* To liaise with the Engineering department to ensure accuracy of any Bill of Materials (BOM).
* To attend the daily Production meetings to explain notable changes and/or issues to the wider team.
* Understand factory safety standards, be able to work safely and be aware of potential hazards in the workplace.
* Follow safety protocol, including wearing PPE – such as, gloves, protective footwear, ear plugs or defenders, where necessary.

Electrical Maintenance Technician

We are working alongside an incredibly innovative biotechnology company based in South Oxfordshire who due to continued growth are now looking to add a site based electrical maintenance technician to their growing engineering team.

The Role;

  • Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance to ensure that the building, plant and equipment continues to support day to day operations.
  • Maintain site services; AHU’s, extract fans/motors, water systems (process /domestic) inclusive of pumps, calorifiers, boilers, pressurisation units, and vacuum systems.
  • Maintain all electrical systems and perform fault finding where failures occur.
  • Undertake routine emergency light testing, external lighting checks and associated remedial works.
  • Liaise with and support external contractors in maintaining;
  • Gas Boilers, Compressed Air, UPS, AC/Chillers, Water System dosing, BMS, PAT and Fixed Wire testing.
  • As a Team member, support routine activities such as Weekly Fire Alarm Testing, and daily checks to verify correct operation of plant.

  • Experience gained in a regulated, GMP or ATEX environment would be advantageous.

  • Customer focused, with ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to work methodically with attention to detail, even when under pressure.

TIG Welder

POSITION; TIG Welder

SHIFT; Late Shift (Monday – Thursday 2:15pm – 10.15pm – Friday 1pm – 7pm – plus overtime/weekend work available)

We require TIG Welders for our client near Abingdon in Oxfordshire. You will be required to carry out skilled TIG welding work including inspection, preparation and cutting, to fabricate, repair, maintain and install metal items, checking/testing.

Main responsibilities;

  • Carry out skilled TIG welding work
  • Join thin metals of varying compositions by operating specialised hand and power tools.
  • Use tungsten inert gas welding to fuse metal parts together.
  • Weld in all positions and thicknesses.

About you;

  • Previous TIG Welding & experience in arc welding process’s that uses tungsten electrode
  • Ideally PCN2 coded but not essential
  • Ability to read drawings
