About the role;

Responsibilities;

  • Participate in project planning meetings, providing insights and recommendations from the finishing team perspective.
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality control standards and identify potential issues proactively.
  • Proactively address any concerns or issues raised by stakeholders, finding solutions that benefit all parties involved.
  • Generate and present reports to management, highlighting areas for improvement and demonstrating team progress.
  • Track and analyse offline production data, identifying areas for improvement and cost optimisation.
  • Implement data-driven initiatives to enhance team efficiency and project profitability.
  • Reports to Composite Manager but will partner closely with Logistics and other stakeholder managers to ensure smooth material flow and project alignment.
  • Proactively address interdepartmental concerns and negotiate solutions collaboratively.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, quality, and cost.

Essential experience;

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in boat finishing preferably with leadership responsibilities. proven experience leading and motivating production teams in a marine or similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of boat construction and finishing processes would be of advantage, however automotive background or similar roles would be considered.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with effective communication skills.
  • A collaborative and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.

COMPOSITES TECHNICIAN

Position; Composites Technician / Finisher

Location; Oxford area

Salary; £28,000 – £30,000 per annum

About the role;

The successful candidate will be responsible for finishing of GRP mouldings for use in boat construction. Trimming, preparation, polishing, gel coat repairs and assembly of moulded components.

Responsibilities;

  • Checking and identifying defects requiring rework
  • Repair to gel coat surfaces to remove imperfections/ joint lines from split mould tools.
  • Fairing of surfaces
  • Polishing of gel coat surfaces to achieve high level of surface finish.
  • Trimming of GRP components using air saws, routers and diamond cutting discs, if required
  • Sanding and finishing of cut edges using abrasives papers.
  • Maintain and promote high standards of workmanship.
  • Assist in other areas of the manufacturing process as directed by the Team Leader for this section.
  • Assist in the training of personnel including new production operatives as and when required.
  • Basic Housekeeping duties, including maintaining a tidy workstation and working area.
  • Be accountable for your own work.
  • Correct use of PPE.
  • Uphold company HSE standards and report any shortfalls.

Essential experience;

  • Previous experience of finishing GRP or paint finishes/ detailing.
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach.
  • Good team player being able to work independently or as part of a team when necessary.
  • Able to work to deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Previous experience of working within the Marine industry or similar high quality driven industry advantageous but not essential.

The role;

  • Production line rejects: to ensure production line rejects are evaluated against customer acceptance criteria in accordance with defined quality process procedures.

Mobile Facilities Engineer

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum

40 hours per week – Sunday to Thursday

Hours: Sunday 1pm – 10pm, Monday 9am – 6pm, Tuesday to Thursday 7am – 4pm.

Our client is one of the UK’s leading fresh fruit & vegetable suppliers to the foodservice industry and the only remaining national family-run wholesale greengrocer.

They have an immediate requirement for a Mobile Facilities Engineer to complete routine and emergency repairs at a variety of locations. This will involve responding to reports of broken or faulty machinery, conducting routine inspections of buildings/equipment and liaising with external specialist suppliers and contractors.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Reporting to the Facilities Manager, as part of the HSEF team, to undertake scheduled and reactive maintenance activities at several locations around the M25.
  • Provide a full range of maintenance support for PPM and reactive issues including but not limited to: minor building, HVAC, plumbing, Mechanical/Electrical, and painting repairs & general maintenance as necessary.
  • Implement preventative maintenance measures.
  • Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
  • Carrying out reactive and emergency breakdown tasks allocated.
  • Liaise as required with external contractors, overseeing their activities and conform to all H&S regulations and best practices.
  • Perform other maintenance duties as requested.

We are seeking applicants with the following skills, attributes, and experience:

  • Recognised Mechanical and/or Electrical engineering qualification.
  • Full clean UK driving licence.
  • General maintenance and facilities experience.
  • Experience of working on HVAC equipment (desirable).

Pump Engineer

Planet Recruitment are recruiting for a pump engineer to join our client in a small but fast growing business within the sewage and waste water industry. With a company van and a fuel card provided, you will be on the road in the Gloucestershire and surrounding areas, completing the jobs in your diary. They provide 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, the room for overtime and on weekends, as well as on call on bank holidays. Responsibilities:

– Servicing, call outs and problem solving on Sewage Treatment Plants, Sewage Pumps and Wastewater systems.

– Dealing with electrical and mechanical elements of the systems, servicing and repairing.

– Liaising with the scheduling team and/or line manager on a daily basis, reporting any problems with work and keeping the customer updated.

-Providing feedback on parts used or works to be quotes in line with procedures.

– Ensuring your van stock is up to date with relevant parts and tools.

– Carry out on the job training as directed by your line manager.

– Liaising with customer’s on site during jobs.

– Use of a mobile app to know your daily schedule.

Skills:

The Role;

The Forecast Manager is a pivotal role within the business, working with commercial, operations and supply chain to develop effective forecast models.
