Assistant Planner

Our Client;

Our client boasts a 40 year history specialising in precision fabrication and welding for highly-regulated industries. Who due to continued growth are looking to add a Quality Engineer to their experienced & highly motivated team

Main responsibilities;

* To monitor and report on finished goods stock levels against agreed targets
* To help identify, report and implement planning and scheduling process improvements
* To assist in ensuring that clear communications of project timelines, material deliveries, key deadlines or agreed review points, work orders and transport requirements are made available to Production in order to provide on time delivery of each Project, in line with Customer expectations.
* To support the Production Manager in the planning of labour hours against capacity of the Production workforce to ensure efficiencies are maximised and that overtime is planned and accounted for within the Customer quotations prior to agreement
* To monitor stock availability and variances to ensure supplies are available in line with Production planning or to escalate to the responsible lead to establish new delivery dates and adjust plan accordingly.
* To work with the Materials Handlers to arrange inventory cycle counts and ensure the ERP systems accuracy is maintained.
* To become confident in using the ERP system and to support the Planning Coordinator through knowledge of the stock control and production functions within it.
* To receive and enter Sales Orders on to the ERP system in an accurate and timely manner.
* To liaise with the Engineering department to ensure accuracy of any Bill of Materials (BOM).
* To attend the daily Production meetings to explain notable changes and/or issues to the wider team.
* Understand factory safety standards, be able to work safely and be aware of potential hazards in the workplace.
* Follow safety protocol, including wearing PPE – such as, gloves, protective footwear, ear plugs or defenders, where necessary.

About you;

* Previous experience within operational planning and scheduling
* Good analytical skills and critical thinking, to enhance Planning effectiveness
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills (further training can be provided where necessary) as well as good knowledge of an ERP system.
* Experience with, or knowledge of, Project Management led planning

About the role;

Planet Recruitment has registered a new permanent opportunity for our client based in Didcot on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will have a background within customer services and administrative support. The role is Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5pm.

Responsibilities;

  • Maintain claims allocated to you within the set SLA’s
  • Make formal assessments on claims to decide if they are covered under the policy terms and conditions
  • Make cost effective decisions on all claims handled
  • Raising Purchase Orders
  • Updating consumers on all actions taking
  • Liaise with manufacturers and retailers

Electrical Maintenance Technician

Our Client;

We are working alongside an incredibly innovative biotechnology company based in South Oxfordshire who due to continued growth are now looking to add a site based electrical maintenance technician to their growing engineering team.

The Role;

  • Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance to ensure that the building, plant and equipment continues to support day to day operations.
  • Maintain site services; AHU’s, extract fans/motors, water systems (process /domestic) inclusive of pumps, calorifiers, boilers, pressurisation units, and vacuum systems.
  • Maintain all electrical systems and perform fault finding where failures occur.
  • Undertake routine emergency light testing, external lighting checks and associated remedial works.
  • Liaise with and support external contractors in maintaining;
  • Gas Boilers, Compressed Air, UPS, AC/Chillers, Water System dosing, BMS, PAT and Fixed Wire testing.
  • As a Team member, support routine activities such as Weekly Fire Alarm Testing, and daily checks to verify correct operation of plant.

  • Action maintenance/engineering requests, either internally or by use of external contractors for specialist work.
  • Occasional weekend or out of hours work and participation in on-call rota.

Key skills & knowledge required;

  • Electrical Maintenance experience gained in a manufacturing/facilities environment is essential.
  • Experience gained in a regulated, GMP or ATEX environment would be advantageous.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, co-operative and reliable.
  • Able to learn new techniques/procedures (ATEX).
  • Customer focused, with ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to work methodically with attention to detail, even when under pressure.
  • Basic computer Literacy and knowledge of H&S practices is expected.

  • Trained electrical apprentice

Main Responsibilities;

Fabricate a Job from start to finish, ensuring it meets the strict quality standards, from interpretation of the drawing to preparation, and build.

We are looking for a self-motivated person, able to work on his own and as part of a team. Broad knowledge of engineering industry, paying attention to details, track record of welding experience. Must have both fabrication and welding skill sets, including cutting, marking up, squaring off, bending etc.
