Our client, based near Didcot (Culham) are seeking several cleaners to join them on a temporary to permanent basis. The successful candidate will ideally have some cleaning experience, a strong work ethic and ideally live locally due to location.

The Role;

Your role will involve making sure the offices are cleaned to a high standard by dusting, vacuuming and polishing, along with being able to work on your own initiative or work efficiently in a team and have a good attention to detail.

Reporting to the supervisor, the duties will include but not be limited to:

  • General Cleaning
  • Emptying Waste Bins and replacing Bin Liners
  • Toilet Cleaning
  • Sanitising the toilets and wash basins and keeping the area’s clean and tidy
  • Replenishing Toilet Tissues, Hand Towels, Soap products etc.

Morning shifts working Monday to Friday 6am – 2:15pm

About you;

The ideal candidate will have previous knowledge of cleaning and using related chemical products, so COSHH awareness would be advantageous. You will also need good communication skills in order to deal with any visitor questions and offer assistance where needed.

We now have an opportunity for a Senior Software engineer to lead a team supporting and developing data Acquisition (DAQ) software for Soft Condensed Matter (SCM) and Crystallography science groups.

This role involves technically guiding and leading the team developing DAQ solutions for these science groups as well as contributing to those solutions.

As a team leader in the DAQ Group you will work alongside other software engineers supporting a range of experimental techniques and developing DAQ capabilities in an open and collaborative environment. You will be required to interact with scientists and translate their specifications for scientific capabilities into software requirements, which will entail writing codes to communicate to the hardware.

You will liaise with controls, data analysis and information management engineers to put these requirements into action. You will collaborate with the scientists and science group leaders to prioritise the work of your team and you will support the DAQ Core Team in the modernisation of the Acquisition Platform. You will also potentially participate in international collaborations within this domain, sharing best practice and supporting other facilities within the collaboration.

EXPERIENCE

  • Java, Java RMI, Python desirable
  • Experience in the full Software Development Lifecycle, using a modern high-level language.
  • Understanding of good software design principles and design for usability.
  • Experience of developing software to control and monitor scientific or industrial equipment or IoT is preferable
  • Experience of working with large and complex code bases
  • Minimum degree qualification in a STEM subject

You should display good communication, interpersonal and analytical skills, with a personal interest or experience in science. You should additionally be able to demonstrate the following essential capabilities:

  • Strong leadership and organisation.
  • Proven experience in managing small teams of software engineers.

THE ROLE

This is a varied role where you will work with existing staff in order to implement appropriate devops tools and practices that best support software in use within the company.

  • Analyse cutting edge and industry standard devops tools and practices in terms of potential use within the company’s software development and deployment processes. Promote user cases and solutions both internally and externally through significant meetings or conferences.
  • Subject to the overall software architecture and strategy, implement and integrate devops tools and methodologies into software development and deployment processes.
  • Establish, maintain, and participate in international collaborations to contribute to the success of company.
  • Provide operational support for software components that underpin both on premises and public cloud hosted devops platforms.

  • Proven experience of working with production systems such as Kubernetes that run containerised applications.
  • Exposure to ‘infrastructure as code’ tools such as Chef, Puppet or preferably Ansible.
  • Proven experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines for business critical applications.
  • Proven experience working with public Cloud APIs either directly or via orchestration tools such as Terraform.
  • Experience of modern programming languages such as Golang, Java, or Python.

The Company;

We are looking for Pickers / Packers to join our clients team based on Milton Park, Abingdon.

Working a day shift from 7am until 3pm, Monday to Friday, this is a temporary to permanent role.

The Role;
  • You will be required to pick orders in an accurate and time efficient manner.

  • Have a good attention to detail, ensuring items and work is completed with minimal errors.

  • Packing of picked items ready for despatch and ensuring labels are printed and addressed to the correct items.
  • You must adhere to all aspects of health and safety and company guidelines.
