About the role;

Planet Recruitment have registered an exciting new opportunity for prestigious client in the city centre of Oxford. We are looking for a Commis Chef on a permanent basis. This role is the beginner level of the kitchen brigade and therefore involves a lot of food preparation. However, as individuals become more proficient, opportunities are presented for more independent cooking. However, the ideal candidate will be someone who is looking for professional development in our professional and high standard kitchen.

Working hours;

The shift roster is 40hrs/wk over any 5 from 7 days.

Shift Roster: 2 weeks alternating earlies then lates. During the 2-week roster there is a 3-day weekend (every other weekend).

Shift Start times: Earlies: 6.30am-2.30pm. Lates: 12.30pm-8.30pm (always subject to operational requirements).

Responsibilities;

  • Maintains a high standard of specified work in accordance with the Executive Head Chef and shift supervisor’s instructions.
  • Prepare, cook, and serve food delegated as your responsibility, ensuring that the highest possible quality is maintained and that agreed standards for food preparation and presentation are always met under guidance from a senior chef.
  • Assess all dishes before leaving kitchen for taste, presentation, and food quality.
  • Adhere to all procedures regarding temperatures checks, food labelling and dating, cleaning schedules and hygiene regulations always ensuring that all records of such are maintained.
  • Assist with acceptance and storage of deliveries and that all relevant procedures are adhered to.
  • Understand menu planning, the implementation of stock controls, the importance of good stock management and how this enables the kitchen to meet gross profit.
  • Be familiar with the opening and closing procedures of the kitchen and carry them out.
  • Keep high standards of cleanliness.
  • Be fully aware of all hygiene control and chemicals used in the workplace.
  • Assist at private dinners, as required.
  • Food menu: to collaborate with the shift supervisor on menu development.
  • Ensure minimum wastage by correctly handling surplus food after service.
  • Aid in achieving food cost and kitchen standards.
  • Carry out daily and weekly procedures, including temperature checks, food labelling/dating and storage.
  • Maintain effective working relationship with food and beverage team and other departments.
  • Is customer-oriented and able to converse with diners.
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of the full menu and be able to explain dish descriptions including allergens.
  • Remove any hazards and make safe any defect in the kitchen or its equipment and report any problems to a senior chef.

Senior MIS Consultant

Position: Senior MIS Consultant

Location: Remote with travel to Buckinghamshire or Leeds

Are you familiar with SIMS, Arbor, ScholarPack, Integris or Bromcom? Do you work in a school administration role or similar and looking for a new challenge?

As a Senior MIS Consultant, it is your job to provide 2nd and 3rd line telephone and remote MIS support. You will also be responsible for delivering training, offering consultancy, and updating guidance documentation.

You are a motivated and self-directed individual, with excellent interpersonal skills and breadth of knowledge in MIS packages; mainly SIMS, Arbor and Bromcom. You are comfortable working either in a team or independently, you are very organised and a self-learner. You will take responsibility for areas of MIS support and report to the MIS Team Leader.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide MIS support for primary and secondary schools

  • Play a full role in the co-ordination, implementation, production and delivery of MIS training programmes, using a variety of techniques, including formal training delivery, seminars, on-site training and workspace sessions
  • Advise customers on the appropriate training and the relevant medium of delivery
  • Advise and guide schools on school improvements/processes whilst promoting effective use of the school’s MIS systems.
  • Enable schools to complete their DfE statutory requirements by holding seminars and delivering training sessions.
  • Develop and maintain high quality support documentation

The role;
